Dear Cherry Hill National Families:
These are definitely uncharted times we are all living through today. We hope you are all well and safe and extend our thanks and gratitude to all of those working on the front-lines combating this virus, our prayers are with you. Additionally, a huge thanks to all of the parents and care-givers who have now taken on the additional role of being your child's teachers as well, surely a tedious task.
We are still hopeful that a spring season will be played even if it needs to be extended beyond our usual closing date in mid-June; we thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. Currently, we are working with the guidelines provide by the Babe Ruth League and will update you as more information becomes available from them which includes season time tables, tournament trail modifications and other important information.
UPDATED: In accordance with protocols put in place by the CDC, Governor of NJ, County Officials, Township Officials and the Board of Education, it is with the abundance of caution that the Cherry Hill National Athletic League Board of Directors has extended the social distancing protocols and will suspend all 2020 spring baseball and softball activities until further notice. This includes all practices and training sessions held at the main complex and any satellite township and school fields (which have officially been closed in light of the original announcement of the cancellation of all after school activities, including athletic activities), and games already scheduled (travel programs and softball) through April 30th and should be rescheduled through affiliated leagues/teams. All private training facilities and trainers used by the travel programs are also cancelled and a reschedule plan will be worked out with them. The resumption of the season will be reviewed on April 30, 2020, with further information to follow.
Given the risks posed by the COVID-19 virus and the expert prediction of continuing community transmission, we believe that in practicing the safety measures recommended by the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov) and the NJDPH (https://www.nj.gov/health/) and that the temporary social distancing (quarantine) is the best approach for protecting the health and well being of our players, coaches, staff and all of our families.
We assure you that we will continually monitor this fluid situation and all of the available information provided by governing authorities and officials and we'll communicate through email and our Facebook page any and all information regarding the resumption of league activities in the weeks ahead as the local impact of the virus becomes more clear. We will continue to prepare for the upcoming season so that we can provide the best experience possible. Team selections have been completed and all players will be informed of their team assignment shortly as we look forward to getting out on the fields as soon as it is safe to do so.
Thank you in advance for your understanding and support of this decision. For additional questions or concerns, we ask that you contact us via email at our COVID-19 Virus dedicated email address at CHNALHealth@gmail.com
We ask that during these trying times, that you try to go about your daily lives as normal as possible and keep those already affected, decision-makers, our communities, and each other in your daily intentions. Like all others, this storm will eventually pass and we'll be back of the fields before long.
Cherry Hill National Board of Directors
